About
5ire

5ire is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on sustainability, utilizing proof-of-stake and an AI-driven carbon offset marketplace. The platform is backed by 60+ Tier 1 investors and holds government partnerships in India and Dubai. 5ire targets crypto investors and DeFi participants seeking scalable, sustainable blockchain infrastructure as an alternative to legacy Layer 1 networks. The $5IRE token trades across four exchanges and is positioned as a long-term infrastructure investment.

  • Target Audience: ETH holders, DeFi protocol users, crypto investors interested in sustainable blockchain infrastructure
  • Growth Stage: Scale-up

Attribution Note: 5ire's paid acquisition on Blockchain-Ads is managed through affiliate partners, each running independently with their own market focus and creative approach. This case study covers one such campaign and reflects what Blockchain-Ads can deliver for 5ire-aligned partners targeting crypto investors across North America and Latin America.

The Challenge

5ire needed to reach crypto investors with existing blockchain knowledge and sufficient capital to buy $5IRE tokens, in a Layer 1 market crowded with established and emerging competitors. Four obstacles defined what that required:

  • Sophisticated investor profile: The target buyer needed prior DeFi or ETH investment experience to evaluate a Layer 1 infrastructure play. Broad crypto audiences would not convert to token holders.
  • Niche sustainability positioning: 5ire's differentiation through sustainability, carbon offsetting, and government partnerships required reaching investors who valued ESG credentials alongside technical performance.
  • Competitive L1 landscape: Ethereum, Solana, and newer Layer 1 entrants competed for the same investor attention across North America and Latin America.
  • Token awareness gap: $5IRE's listing across four exchanges provided accessible entry points, but reaching investors who had not yet encountered the project required precise audience targeting.

Why Blockchain-Ads

Layer 1 token advertising is restricted on Google and Meta in most jurisdictions across North America and Latin America. 5ire needed to reach ETH holders and DeFi users, but mainstream platforms can't target them effectively. The campaign required verified wallet-level signals, not demographic proxies.

Blockchain-Ads provided the targeting infrastructure the campaign required through four capabilities:

  • ETH holder segments: Campaigns reached wallets with verified ETH holdings and prior token investment history, ensuring ad spend was directed at buyers already active in blockchain infrastructure investments.
  • DeFi protocol user targeting: Audiences were filtered to users with active DeFi participation, indicating familiarity with evaluating new Layer 1 projects.
  • Investing and wealth management interest layers: Additional filters captured users actively researching long-term cryptocurrency investment opportunities across North America and Latin America.
  • Crypto-native inventory: Publisher coverage across blockchain and DeFi-native content in the target regions ensured placement in front of active investors already engaged with the Layer 1 ecosystem.

Campaign Results

  • 170 token holders acquired at a CPA of $119.52.
  • $57,782 in token purchase volume generated across the 30-day campaign.
  • ROAS: 2.84x return on $20,318 total ad spend.
  • Impressions: 4M+ delivered across North America and Latin America.
  • Total clicks: 20,640 at a CTR of 0.54% and CPC of $0.98.

Campaign Strategy

Phase 1: Learning (Week 1 to 2)

The objective was to identify which investor segments and creative angles produced the highest token purchase rate. Display ads ran across crypto-native publisher inventory in North America and Latin America against ETH holder and DeFi protocol user segments.

Three angles were tested:

  • The category positioning angle led with "5ire, Future Proof Layer 1 Blockchain," targeting investors evaluating L1 alternatives.
  • The institutional credibility angle led with "60+ Tier 1 Investors" and "Key Governments Partnerships, Like India and Dubai," targeting buyers who respond to authority signals and institutional backing.
  • The sustainability narrative angle ran "Blockchain Meets Sustainability" and "Blockchain x Sustainability x AI," targeting ESG-aware investors seeking infrastructure projects with real-world impact.

The institutional credibility angle drove the strongest engagement from ETH holder segments in the first two weeks.

Phase 2: Consideration (Week 2 to 3)

Targeting was tightened to ETH holder and DeFi protocol user segments that showed the highest post-click engagement in Phase 1. The exchange availability angle was introduced with "Trading Now on 4 Exchanges," providing a direct liquidity signal for investors ready to buy. The ecosystem growth angle, "5irechain is Growing!," ran as a momentum creative against segments that had engaged with the institutional credibility angle but had not yet converted. For the infrastructure-specific angles, "5ire's Multibillion Carbon Offsetting Marketplace" and "Powered by Grofoundation.io," ran against deeper-research segments to provide technical validation for high-intent investors.

Phase 3: Acquisition (Week 3 to 4)

Retargeting activated against users who had clicked but had not yet purchased $5IRE tokens. The exchange availability and institutional credibility creatives scaled into retargeting with direct purchase-action framing. The "Buy $5IRE" and "Invest in 5IRE" CTAs drove conversion across the retargeted pool. 170 token holders were acquired across the full 30-day campaign at a CPA of $119.52. This generated $57,782 in token purchase volume against $20,318 in total ad spend.
